Board Members

George T. Haber, Chairman of the Board

George T. Haber is chairman of Lucid. A proven entrepreneur who is passionate about powering the technology revolution, George has been forming, leading and advising innovative high-tech startups for more than 15 years.

In addition to helping lead Lucid since 2004, George also is the chairman and CEO of CrestATech, a wireless chip company he founded in 2005.

George started his career designing the first hardware accelerator ASIC for Daisy Systems before joining Sun Microsystems in 1989. At Sun, he designed and integrated the FPU in the UltraSPARC chip. He then helped design the 3-D graphics engine for SGI’s INDY-2 professional workstation. In 1993, he co-founded CompCore Multimedia, a multimedia compression technology company that merged with Zoran, and in 1997 he launched GigaPixel, focused on 3-D graphics technology, which merged with 3Dfx in 2000. From 2000-2004, he was founder, chairman and CEO of Mobilygen, creating multimedia processors for mobile and connected video markets.

Over the years, George also has been an angel investor and served on several company boards, including InterVideo, Zoran, Class Data Systems and Aristo Technology.

George is frequently quoted by press, invited to speak at conferences, and was interviewed for Dean Takahashi’s book on Microsoft, “Opening the Xbox.” George received his bachelor’s degree in computer science and electrical engineering from Technion - Israel Institute of Technology in Haifa.


Moshe Steiner, Chief Executive Officer

Moshe Steiner is the chief executive officer of Lucid. With more than 20 years of executive experience, mostly in the fabless semiconductor industry, Moshe is uniquely positioned to drive Lucid’s leadership in meeting the industry’s growing demand for high-performance 3D graphics.

Moshe formerly was vice president and co-general manager of Marvell Israel (which acquired Galileo Technology), a leader in storage, communications and consumer silicon solutions. He was responsible for the multimillion-dollar business of the switched products group business unit of Galileo; managed the Marvell Israel activities with over 400 employees; and led the MMX cluster development of the first Pentium-MMX CPU. He also took part in the development and implementation of the i80486 CPU.

He previously served as chief operations officer of Oplus Technologies Ltd., prior to its acquisition by Intel, and as vice president of technologies at Zapex Technologies, a Japanese-American VLSI company that developed solutions for MPEG-2 digital video compression applications. Before Zapex, Moshe held various management roles at Intel for more than 10 years.

Moshe holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Engineering and an MBA from Technion - Israel Institute of Technology in Haifa.


Dr. Reuven Bakalash, Co-Founder and Chief Technology Officer

Dr. Reuven Bakalash is the co-founder and chief technology officer of Lucid, with a strong record of successful entrepreneurship and scientific research.

As a scientist at the State University of New York-Stony Brook, Reuven developed the CUBE architecture, for medical volume visualization, which was further commercialized by Mitsubishi America.

Later, Reuven founded and served as president of Terra Computers Ltd. in Israel, a vendor of application-oriented parallel supercomputers for drug design and financial simulation applications. He also founded and was chief technology officer of Mountain View, Calif.-based HyperRoll Inc., which provides accelerating software that enables a very high level of speed, data volume and dimensions to business intelligence.

Reuven received his doctorate in computer science from Ben-Gurion University; a master of science in computer science from Ben-Gurion University; and a bachelor of science in electrical engineering from the Technion - Israel Institute of Technology. He is the author and co-author of many patents and published papers on algorithms, systems and architectures of 3D computer graphics, volume visualization, and analytical databases.


Eyal Niv, Managing Director, Giza VC

Eyal Niv joined Giza in 2000 specializing in the sectors of semiconductors, mobile and networking technologies. He serves on the boards of companies within these sectors, contributing to ongoing company building, recruiting and strategic planning. Prior to joining Giza, Eyal was the founder of Super Computers, an Enterprise Application Integration company, and was responsible for system analysis of large medical databases.

Eyal holds a BCom in Actuarial Science & Corporate Finance from Wits University, SA.


Gary Gannot, Partner, GenesisPartners

Gary joined Genesis Partners in 2000, focusing on semiconductor and communications investments. He is currently a board member at Elcom Technologies, Lucid, and SolarEdge.

Prior to joining Genesis Partners, Gary was co-founder and COO of RelayHealth, an e-health company that facilitates web-based communication between patients and their physicians. Gary joined RelayHealth from Exemplar Logic, a leader in FPGA design automation software, where he served as VP Engineering. Earlier, Gary spent five years at Intel, where he participated in the design of the 486 microprocessor.

Gary is a retired pilot of the Israeli Air Force and holds a BSc in Computer Engineering from the Technion – Israel Institute of Technology.


Advisory Board

Nick Triantos

Nick has more than 15 years of experience in software engineering and engineering management. Prior to his current position at TokBox, Nick served as Chief Software Architect at NVIDIA, where his teams built cross-platform, advanced 3D graphics software, and real time JIT compilers. An expert in computer graphics and system software architecture, he also has work experience in the set-top box, console games and business productivity software markets, from his previous work at Navio, 3DO, and Claris.

“Nick brings his extensive software background to the Lucid board of advisors,” continued Offir. “His vast engineering experience in cross platforms and advanced 3D graphics will be a great help to Lucid as we continue to develop and exploit our technology.”


Dr. Uri Weiser

A pioneer in micro processor development, Uri began his career as a research and systems engineer for the Israeli Department of Defense. Employed by Intel from 1988 through 2006, he initiated the definition of the first Pentium® processor and drove the development of Intel's MMX™ technology architecture. He holds the distinguished titles of Intel Fellow, IEEE Fellow and ACM Fellow. Prior to his career at Intel, Uri led the design of the NS32532 microprocessor at National Semiconductor Israel.
