LT22102 - Cost Effective - Three Way 16 lane PCIe Gen 2.0 SoC
The LT22102, is a SoC device providing an affordable generic dual GPU solution for motherboards as well as Add In Boards. The LT22102 is a dedicated PCIe Gen2 device designed to scale graphic performance in a dual GPU environment.
The device incorporates 48 lanes at PCIe Gen 2.0 wire speed performance, a PCI-Express switching connectivity with peer to peer communication and an embedded end point. With one x 16 upstream port and two x16 downstream ports this silicon is ideal for dual GPU systems. The upstream port typically connects to the system’s chipset north bridge or directly to the host CPU. The two downstream ports are connected to up to two GPUs from any vendor. The embedded end point incorporates a RISC processor and DMA engines used by Lucid’s proprietary algorithms.
The LT22102 connects seamlessly to any vendor’s chipset or CPU that comprises a Root Complex, and to any vendor’s GPU. It is fully compliant with Microsoft Vista, Win7 OS and DirectX9c and DirectX 10.1 standard APIs. Together with the unique HYDRA driver, the LT22102 provides an adaptive and dynamic, parallel graphics load-balancing scheme. It resolves bottlenecks in the system and optimizes the usage of GPU resources with minimal power consumption.
