LT24102 - Auto-Configuration - Five Way 16/8 lane PCIe Gen 2.0 SoC
The LT24102, is an auto configurable SoC providing a generic multi GPU solution both for motherboard and AIB vendors. LT24102 has a PCIe Gen2 interconnect and is designed to scale graphic performance in a heterogeneous multi GPU environment.
The device incorporates 48 lanes at PCIe Gen 2.0 wire speed performance, a PCI-Express switching connectivity with peer to peer communication and an embedded end point. With one x 16 upstream port and two x16 (configurable to four x 8) downstream ports this silicon is ideal for multiple GPU systems. The upstream port is typically connected to the system’s chipset north bridge or directly to the host CPU and the downstream ports are connected to up to four GPUs of any vendor. The embedded end point incorporates an advanced RISC processor and DMA engines used by Lucid’s proprietary algorithms.
The LT24102 can be deployed with any chipset or CPU that comprises a Root Complex, and to any vendor GPUs. It is compliant with Microsoft Vista, Win7 OS and DirectX9c, DirectX10.1 and is DirectX11 ready. Together with the HYDRA driver, the LT24102 provides an adaptive and dynamic, parallel graphics load-balancing scheme, which resolves bottlenecks in the system and optimizes the usage of the GPUs.
